Good launch btw!
Thats because its well deserved! These themes are pretty polished, and at a very fair price.

Hi guys,
I am a previous customer of your themes and I like them. After searching high and low for good magazine themes, I would like to make a few suggestion for improving magazine themes on wordpress. Perhaps this can be a super-premium theme and be twice as expensive, but this is what I feel are glaringly missing from people that want to take these themes to the next level:
- ad space should have option of being assigned to a category, and instead of just link to image URL, allow admins to insert HTML code, so third party adservers can be used, and ads can be contextually targeted to keywords on page.
- categories should have its own header, or at least a small banner above the first story in that category, allowing publishers to ‘brand’ a category, like the big boys. Also, ‘related articles’, ‘most popular’ and even video gallery should be configured for the category, not sitewide.
- allow users to rotate category thumbnails/icons, that aren’t related to the story, but just always used with small blurbs that go on the front page. We can load these up on the admin side ahead of time, and it automatically is inserted. E.G. an icon of dollar bills for a Finance section.
I believe the best online magazine to take a few good ideas from is http://nymag.com - and while a little too busy for all but the biggest sites, I think you’ll see the above ideas could go along way to catching some of that magic. Thx for listening and look forward to seeing more good work and buying more themes from you guys.

Congrats!
I really like Adii’s ideas and the way they where take in to reality.
I just have one little question so I can understand properly how WOO will work:
Lets say I purchase the wonderful Fresh News Themes (which I love) on a Single User License basis, but I find a problem with the theme.
And after reading all the theme documentation and the forum I don’t find the answer…
There is no support?
No by mail?
No by forum post (when you purchase a Single User Licence, U$S 70, you can only read support forums, you’re not aloud to post questions)?
That is my only caveat with the new and shiny WOO
I love everything else and I wish you guys very good luck!
@J.P. - Unfortunately that is it yes… We’re busy migrating all the data from our old support forum (http://support.premiumnewstheme.com) to here, which means that eventually our support section will be massive. It is thus our believe that in 99% of cases, you will find a solution for your problem in the theme docs, tutorials or support forum.
We will still do some blog posts about this policy, as we know that this will be debated. The basic idea is however that club members get added benefits and the subscription fee is not only for access to the themes, but to support as well.
I would really have to agree with Steven above. I’ve been using NyMag.com, amoungst others, as inspiration for my site’s redesign and I really think a lot of what sites like this do can be integrated into a WordPress theme rather successfully. Doing it, of course, can’t be easy, but seeing it done would be more than impressive (and incredibly attractive to potential customers).
I’d seriously consider all of Steven’s suggestions and, as I’m more than sure you’re doing, certainly look at developing some “super-premium theme” features. I believe that more than anything, that’s the kind of stuff that sets premium themes apart. But that may just be me…
Adriaan,
I purchased the All-Inclusive Developers Package for $499 on 5/29/08. Now only 6 weeks into my purchase, I’m not able to post a support forum question and I’ve got an issue I need some assistance with. How can I get some questions answered without having to pay $375 for the next six months?
I support your new subscription revenue model and I wish you much success. However, on a going forward basis and as needed, how can you provide me the forum support that I was expecting?
Thanks.

Great launch by the way and I love the design
@Steve - Don’t fret bud!
Your account will be upgraded (as will all accounts from old PNT customers). You should’ve gotten a newsletter yesterday with the details!?
@Tyler - Thanks for the passionate response!
Nice work guys. Looking forward to see what WooThemes has install for the future. I’m sure we can expect great things.

This is a ripoff and you guys are not “respected designers”. This: “All of the themes available on WooThemes are 100% unique and we can assure you that you won’t find similar CMS solutions elsewhere for any other platform.” is also a lie. A unique CMS solution would be to NOT use wordpress at all.
Get a clue before you try whoring yourself and ruining the web design industry.
@John - Let’s get into a cat-fight then…
Define the term “respected designers”…
I like the new themes… great job Elliot. Quick question! Can the ProudFolio width be expanded? We are interested in using the theme but we feel it is simple too narrow at the moment. Also, contact page like this site be inserted?
Cheers.
Mark
@Mark - It can be widened by tweaking the CSS, and contact form plugin should be no problem at all
Well done with the relaunch guys. I love your new theme and wish you the best of luck
Dudes, whats wrong with you? your logo is a rip-off of the YOOtheme logo a popular Joomla template club…
@Steve - Sorry, but I don’t see the similiarities at all… At least ours is blue, whilst they do the red quite nicely…
Fact is, we replicated the business model used by both RocketTheme.com & Yootheme.com, as they’d been very successful in the Joomla community and we wanted to bring that to the WordPress community.
The name WooThemes was derived from two other terms: WordPress & w00t. That is also why you’ll see that some of our banner ads simply has the copy of “w00t!?”.
Oh… And did you see a few years ago; after Apple launched the first generation iPod - everyone else seemed to jump on the bandwagon and release similar handheld music devices. Sheesh - poor Apple - they must be fuming at all those copycats.
Phew… Now that, that is off my chest, I think I can continue to have my morning coffee… Comments like those get me a bit excited so early in the morning before I’ve had my second cup of coffee…
Thanks for posting my image Magnus as you can see I like to mess around with PS
and too many PS actions in my palette
Happy to plug the new venture @ http://www.rybeezy.com/2008/07/11/woothemes-wordpress-theme-shop-and-club-launches/. Good luck!
Blue YOOthemes logo, old themes, non loading template page, expensive club…Good luck boys.
Here’s a post from me: http://akamike.net/web-and-internet/woothemes-premium-wordpress-themes
Good luck with business guys
@Ryan - Thanks!
@Mike - Ironic thing is that Mark Forrester who designed this site and logo, had never seen the other logo before he designed this. I see the similarities, but think ours is better. Thanks for the vote of confidence anyways, I’m sure we’ll do fine
@Mike R - Cheers!
Beautiful
Stunning
Gorgeous
Outclass
Superb
Thumbs Up!
Those are some of the best themes I have ever seen.
I started up my online literary magazine in Feb and ever since, I explored literally hundreds of Wordpress themes … and finally … settled with WOO THEMES … it does everything I could ask for … and best of all, its easy to maintain.
Love it.
