WordPress 2.6 Compatibility

We’d just like to put out a note to everyone about the compatibility of our themes with the latest version of WordPress, since V2.6 has just been released… We have upgraded all our demo installations and we doubt that there’ll be any problems with using our themes with version 2.6:

2.6 is pretty much identical to 2.5 from a plugin and theme compatibility point of view, so upgrades from 2.5 should be pretty painless. The 2.5 branch will no longer be maintain so everyone is encouraged to upgrade. Our standard 3-step upgrade instructions apply to this release. There were at least 1,984,047 downloads of the 2.5 series, the fastest growing release we’ve ever had, and I think all of those people will find 2.6 adds a level of polish that really makes WP a pleasure to use every day.

So you can upgrade away. If you run into any bugs, please report them on the forum, where we have created a new thread in this regard.

Update: We’ve tested WP 2.6. and the themes will work work fine with the latest version of WordPress.

Update 2: It seems that the FreshPost plugin is not compatible with WP2.6 as of yet. According to their blog, they will be releasing a new version this Friday. So we suggest holding off on the upgrade to WP2.6 until the new version of FreshPost is available, since our themes are dependent on this to function perfectly.

    Off topic question.

    Are all of your forums now behind a paywall? I purchased Fresh News a little while back and was surprised to find this.

    Brad - Yes, forums are for members only, but you can get access by simply requesting a new account (all Premium News users should’ve received an e-mail newsletter with regards to this). So simply drop us an e-mail and we’ll sort you out.

    i try to install gazette in wp2.6.1 and i have problem using in dashboard the “Gazette Edition Option”
