Another day, another (free) theme

09. Nov, 2008 by Adii Rockstar in New Themes

We really like to move fast here at WooThemes (even over weekends!)… So only two days after posting some teasers of the themes we’re working on, we have already started to deliver on our promises with our first theme release for November. And on top of that, it’s a free theme…

Typebased is the first theme we’ll be releasing as part of the winning entries in our WooContest. Typebased is an elegant, slick-looking personal blog design and with the 5 different colour schemes, we’ve tried to cater for a big possible user-base. The theme is built on our standard WooTheme-framework, that we use for all of our themes; so even though the “features” of the theme might not be that impressive – that was never the object of this release.

With our free themes, we are trying to keep things really simple, as the themes are targeted at the mainstream / mass market. This doesn’t mean that the quality of the theme is not on par with our other themes, since these free themes are there to give the general public the opportunity to experience WooThemes free of charge.

So we hope that everyone that downloads this theme, will enjoy it. We’re surely very happy with the theme and kudo’s to Armono Wibowo for the original design of the theme. Oh yeah – and obviously leave some feedback here as always… :)

I just recently subscribed to another theme club which is much cheaper only to find out that this theme has all that I want for my personal blog. Nice theme, I like it. :D

    Adii and team,
Are all of the top dogs from the Woothemes contest going to be free? If so, that’s just amazing.

Also want to congratulate you on being in the Web Designer magazine. I saw that two of your themes that I haven’t purchased are included on the CD. That alone makes buying the magazine for $14.99 well worth it.

Good stuff guys. Thanks for changing the game in a positive way.

@Rob – Nope, unfortunately not all of the WooContest themes are going to be free, but we are planning on more free theme releases before year-end… :) Just not gonna tell you guys which are gonna be free…

I really like this design. I’m a big fan of themes that separate content well, and this does so beautifully. Congrats!

Hi Woo Themes: Thanks for the awesome freebie! Very well coded. I mostly used widgets and pluggins to customize. I did the website for a local political club. Check it out: http://cecilyoungrepublican.com

    Great theme — thanks.

    Hi, great theme.
Is it possible to find the font used in the header for free so I can customize it to my own?
And I’m not a prest in Photoshop and similar programs but is there an easy way to edit the Search button to fit my language?

    Thanks for the free theme.
Btw, I hope to see more magazine/newspaper styled themes in the future. Then I will be a member of the club <3 (waiting for the Gotham News)

If you download delicious from dafont.com it should be pretty similar to the font used.

Gotham News will be available tomorrow BTW :) check our twitter feed.
