We may be quiet, but we’re still working!
29. Nov, 2008 by Adii Rockstar in WooThemes News
We admit that we’ve been a bit quiet in the last week or so (more so than we would normally be), but that doesn’t mean we’re not working… The only real reason for the radio silence, is that I’ve been getting things ready for when I move into my new house at the end of the month, whilst Magnus is in Orlando (USA) for holiday, and Mark has just returned back to the UK after a 6 week trip to South Africa (for holiday and wedding planning). So the honest truth is that we’ve been helluva busy; just elsewhere though…
But even considering this, we’ve managed to release our 3rd theme this month – BlogTheme – yesterday, whilst work on quite a few other themes is coming on very nicely. The next theme release (due in the first week of December) will be Veerle Pieters’ amazing theme called Abstract. After which we hope to release Magnus’ Busy Bee theme, along with one other theme before we take a bit of a Christmas / New Year break.
So as you can see, even though we don’t blog and we don’t tweet – it definitely doesn’t mean that we’re not working. Make sense?

Magnus’ Busy Bee theme is absolutely perfect. I look forward to the day it is released. In fact I joined WooThemes for the Busy Bee theme but the other themes are great too!

Lack of Twittering can, if anything, take away valuable work time!
There is nothing wrong with being ‘quiet’ and you shouldn’t feel the need to post excuses for being busy.

@mkjones – I don’t think it’s a matter of us needing to make excuses…
But I thought an update on the development of the new themes would be cool!

Hi Adii
Any tips about other possible themes that will be published before Christmas? I’m undecided btw single theme vs club.

Busy Bee looks so sweet, it makes me wanna buy an audi.
Seriously, I noticed you spent some time thinking about the ad layout a little on this one. Designing around ads has become more important to your customers I would imagine. Maybe sometime you can comment on how you have seen this trend evolve over time.
How will be ads be handled on the back-end? Your own system or something like a UBD Block Ad plugin?
BTW, if you have any interest in online ads vs. design, there is a brand-new article on Smashing tonight about this very topic:

@Dias – Busy Bee & Veerle Pieters’ Abstract theme will definitely both be available before Christmas. Busy Bee could be available as early as this weekend and Abstract next week. And then we’re yet undecided about whether we’ll push out another theme before the new year.
@Joseph – Ad spaces are most definitely important, as our users need to earn a return on investment when they purchase our theme. Judging by Fresh News’ popularity, Busy Bee is definitely in the same mould and it’s great to get such good feedback about the theme before it’s even been released.

Struggling with health issues and jet lag, but Busy Bee is almost finished coding. Just need to make different styles for it.
Regarding the ads in Busy Bee, I’ve made it possible to drop in Adsense code in our options panel for the 468×60 ad spots
