First up, we’d like to wish everyone a very prosperous 2009. We are extremely excited about the year ahead and we hope we can count on all of you to join us on this journey. And with a new year, always comes the need to tweak things in order to improve on how we’ve gone about our business before…
So since our previous two sales promotions (the 3 for 1 Halloween & 4 for 1 Xmas Special), being wildly popular – we have decided to take what we have learned from these promotions and integrated it into a new Permanent 2 for 1 Special.
This means that from today onwards, you will be receiving a bonus, free theme (either Single or Developer license, depending on which you have purchased), when you purchase any one of our great themes. With this offer, you will essentially be getting double the value, without having to pay anything extra. This offer also does not have any time limit and will be in place all year long (even though we will definitely do another “4 for 1″ – or maybe even a “6 for 1″ - later this year).
This is just another way that we’d like to show that our users are the most important aspect of our business, whilst we really want to continue increasing the value to our customers. Hope that this latest-value-add will impress all of you even further!

After clicking this button you will be taken to our signup process:

@David – Not at this stage no… But the club subscriptions will also get a bit of a revamp in a few months time to increase the value thereof even further. Also consider that we currently have 20 themes available and we’re planning on releasing 30-odd new themes in 2009 – so the value per theme of a club subscription is gonna go through the roof.

Hi,
What is really needed is .psd files for single (now double) theme purchases.
It adds to the value of woothemes, by saving time designing and customizing, by including the .psd files for someone who has paid for the whole theme.
Please consider.

@Kam – Well, currently the PSD files are only available as a value-add to users that want our premium package: the Developer Licenses or any subscription.

For 2009 I’d love to see you guys make a killer photoblog theme, something to rival Pixelpost but in Wordpress. One large image per page, comments that are hidden until requested (a la http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/templates/simplicious/ )
A proper thumbnail based archive page too.

@Paul – That is a consideration at this stage, even though we’re not entirely convinced about where to prioritize a photoblog theme. This opinion is based on the feedback we got from current & prospective users in the WooThemes Survey two months ago… So we haven’t really decided yet, but it is a possibility.

OK, I’ll keep hoping! The theme I use right now sucks and I can’t find anything except old Pixelpost themes and terrible Wordpress photoblog themes.

@Paul – I hear you… We’ve currently got a pretty hectic theme release schedule for January & February, but thereafter we’ll definitely look to add a photoblog theme of sorts to our portfolio.
@Stefi – I don’t think that this will materialize. The themes marketplace would’ve anyway just been applicable to WP.com users.

I do feel a little resentment for purchasing the 3 month developer and then seeing a 4 for 1 christmas package the next day and then seeing this 2 for 1 long promotion. I know not your fault and you guys are doing a great job. Just have to put it out there.

@Chad – I don’t quite agree with your feeling in this regard, since the club subscriptions entitles you to 20+ themes at the moment, which means they don’t compare to a 2 or 4 for 1 special. So I don’t think that it is an apples vs apples comparison.

My comment comes mostly from my bad luck and timing lately when it comes to purchasing. I did not mean it to come across as a negative.
I purchased the subscription at the time because I needed a couple of themes for a client. The next few days afterward I saw the 4 for 1. Which would have been less expensive and would have been better tailored to my needs. As I said before not your fault and I have been happy with the selection of templates.

Any plans for a BBpress theme, or a BBpress add-on for existing themes? I would be prepared to pay an additional amount for something which would give me a BBPress forum with the same look&feel as Freshnews for example. Could be an easy additional revenue stream for you guys – just tweaking the existing theme design files for BBPress – I’m guessing it wouldn’t take much additional design work?

If you’ll read the dang print above, you’ll see that the Woo Themes company is the one that said they might offer a 6 for 1 special sometime during the year…. if you would bother to read before jumping all over me, it’s even in italics for Pete’s sake! Don’t bother slamming me when the owners are the ones who originally mentioned it as a possible promotion.
Don’t presume to tell me what’s right and don’t EVER presume to call me greedy.

It can still be greedy to come on here twice and beg for a 6-for-1. It’s like going to the all you can eat buffet and finding a way to take some home with you. Whether or not the owners of the company mention it, trolling for it can still be thought of, in my humble opinion, as greedy.
It’s like the night I sat at the bar when it was $20 all you can drink, watching person after person NOT tip the bartender and offer excuses like “i don’t have any other money…” “i’m broke, that’s why i’m here…” “we spent all our money on dinner, I dont have any more cash…”
That’s classy, ya know?
It’s just not mannered to beg for things for free. That’s just how I was raised.
Maybe you are soooooooooo offended because you know I am right?

I’m planing to buy a theme form you some time soon from you… Themes are great! I’m planning to buy one of your news themes for my upcoming site coolscience.lv . Since it will be in Latvian language, I will have to spend some time translating all, but it will be worth it.
P.S. I suspect Easter special offer… Probably then I’ll make my purchase
