So we know we delayed this announcemenet slightly, but we’ve been tied up elsewhere… But without holding this up any longer, we’d like to tell you who the lucky winners are…
wpressd.com
For this one, we really, really liked John O’Nolan’s suggestion to create a Digg-style platform for niche WordPress content. There are a whole bunch of WP content aggregators out there, but none that offers a little bit of community contribution & involvement; so we’re sure that this will be a great idea. Congrats John!
wpmag.com
For this one, we had to think a little longer as there were many great suggestions… In the end, we decided to award it to Mark Bailey for his in-depth plan of action. We just got the feeling that he’s going to do a great job of building a community around wpmag.com and the community is really lacking some top-notch WP content sites.
So congrats to both John & Mark… Please drop us an e-mail on info[at]woothemes.com and we’ll get those domains moved over to you ASAP.

There must be a knack to winning a WooThemes Competition?!… Or maybe I’m just unlucky at competitions full stop?
Mind you, I wasn’t really expecting to win considering the fact I mentioned I had a domain myself, all I really need now is a theme and some spare time! LOL
Anyway, well done John and Mark (Sounds like I’m talking to myself again!),/i>, I look forward to seeing what the end result is with the 2 sites. As I’m sure Adii and crew will too!
Thanks
Mark
Wohooooooo!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Congratulations!!
That’s fantastic, can’t wait to see your ideas realised!
Darn….
Congratulations to the winners.
Woo hoo too! Thank you so much! I promise to give the WP community a great site!
I don’t get the first giveaway as there is already several digg like social news sites dedicated to wordpress that have been around for sometime now WPscoop which is probably the most known and WPvote which had problems with their system but has now returned using wordpress? Looks like Adii is slightly behind the community on that one.
WPmag seems a good idea though and i wish both winners the best in their new projects.
@David – Fair comment. I did not know about either WPScoop or WPVote, as I’m definitely not in touch with the greater WP community as I was before. *But* in my defence that just means that neither of these sites have established themselves as the Digg for WP; so there is definitely a place for WPressd then!
There is absolutely a place for WPressed to fit into! You dont always have to be the first to market, you just have to have a better product!
Thanks admin.
