Hand-Drawn Social Media Icons

icons_release

After our previous (free) icon release was so wildly successful and popular with you all, we figured that it might not be a bad idea to do it all over again…

This time around, we collaborated with South African artist – Alex Latimer – to create a very unique hand-drawn icon set which is reminiscent of Alex’ signature drawing style. The set comprising of 24 different icons, should cover most of the social networks that you frequent regularly and the default icon size has been set at 64 x 64 pixels.

Here’s a preview of all 24 icons:

Now why would you use these icons? Well, beyond the fact that they’re very unique and extremely cool, Alex is already working on a more complete (approx 60 icons) icon set which will cover all of the “standard” web icons used within designs. So both sets will be in the same, distinctive style and you’ll have 80+ icons to use in your next design.

Download this icon set now!

If you’d prefer these icons without the sketchy dashes in them you can download this version (courtesy of Lorissa Shepstone).

Share these icons:

If you find these icons useful we’d like you to pass them on to other who you think might appreciate the set. The URL to share is: http://camp.woothemes.com/2009/07/hand-drawn-social-media-icons/. Important: You must link to this article when sharing the Icons, you must not upload these files anywhere else.

This icon set is released on the GNU General Public License.

love the different kind of icons. Especially love stumbleupon, digg and reddit. set of 80 icons would be awesome for sure.

Not that Im demanding more, but having small size icons ( like in this post, share & enjoy.. have smaller icons) will be more useful and will help increasing the popularity of this icon set. just my two cents.

Those are fabulous icons! I really like the style.

I read the terms of use and was wondering what sort of credit needs to be given for the use of this set?

Glad you like the icon set. Youtube is my favourite icon I think.

With regard to making a smaller size available, and given the cartoon style of the icons, they may not look as nice and sketchy at 16 X 16 pixels. Of course you are welcome to get your hands dirty and resize them yourselves in Photoshop.

Emberapp is still relatively new, so for now, we probably won’t include it… :)
