Vote: Do You Want This On WooThemes?
21. Aug, 2009 by Adii Rockstar in Theme Concepts
After rebooting my personal blog yesterday, I thought that I’d throw this one out there for some feedback… during the previous 6 months, I got a lot of positive feedback on the design I previously used on my blog, and my readers seemed to like it due to it’s clean, uncluttered style (which made reading easy I assume).
So not to stroke my ego, but would you be keen for us to port this design to WooThemes and release it (most probably a free download) on here? I’m asking based on the feedback I got on the design and also the recent popularity of Mainstream, which is a theme / design in a similar mould.
Here’s what the design looked like (it will obviously need a few minor design adjustments before we could release it on WooThemes):
The plan would thus be to integrate the WooFramework into the theme and along with a few design tweaks & some alternative colour schemes, we could be rocking out another free theme release.
So do you want this? Vote yes / now below and if you really love / hate the idea, leave a comment as well!

+1

Definitely yes! I want it

Hey Guys, the magic of this design is the background with vibrant colors. Releasing a wallpaper combined with typography would be a good hit as well.
22 August 2009 at 4:05 am #
That’s a great idea and we’ll most probably do just that!
21 August 2009 at 5:23 am #
Looks good, and would be a nice addition to the Free themes pool. The background is trully awesome.
21 August 2009 at 5:37 am #
It’s a nice clean layout with a striking background.
Why let it go to waste?
21 August 2009 at 5:51 am #
Ditto. Looks good!
21 August 2009 at 6:03 am #
More free themes?
Not for me thanks.
21 August 2009 at 7:36 am #
yes…11!
21 August 2009 at 7:40 am #
Yes. Definitely.
21 August 2009 at 7:45 am #
Absolutely yes.
21 August 2009 at 7:45 am #
Yeah I always liked this design, I think it would be great!
Hehe apparently @Case is too good for free themes
21 August 2009 at 8:35 am #
this would look good in tumblr too
21 August 2009 at 8:43 am #
yea, Adii’s theme is good for bloggers. But as for me, its ok.

Looking good and clean but I asked already a couple of times for a multimedia page with nice slider menue right, automated jqery slider (like aperture), mp3 player integration (or web radio), video and a nice time scedule. My example as a work was a salsa learning school, where people can see whats coming up next on the calender and make reservations.
If this is too special, I also would pay some extra for a fully featured page, where you can easy switch off staff you don“t need.

I agree with pedro. This theme has the potential to be a clean blog theme and also a great web 2.0 news style theme. Adding a slider and perhaps a featured widget like aperture has with thumbnails would be nice. For the slider have it automatically create a nav underneath with small thumbs of each page in the slider menu. Example would be on tutorial9.net.

But that’s kinda defeating the object of having something clean & uncluttered, not?
21 August 2009 at 10:03 am #
I say yes. You might as well offer it for free versus throwing it away. Bring it on!
21 August 2009 at 12:11 pm #
Yes!!! I always thought that design was quite slick and (sorry) but I think I liked it more than the current tumbler concept
Would love to see it here.

What’s about your personal theme, which you showed on flickr – with the big picture of you in the header? Liked this theme a lot, maybe you can publish that on WooThemes?
22 August 2009 at 4:03 am #
Maybe… Only problem with that design is that it is very personal and would need to be modified quite significantly to make it work as a generic template. But it’s something I will consider… Maybe post them up here in the next few weeks for some feedback.
21 August 2009 at 12:37 pm #
Yes this going to be nice if its free lol
21 August 2009 at 1:20 pm #
Who is voting no for a free theme? :/
22 August 2009 at 2:36 pm #
LOL !!!
25 August 2009 at 6:23 am #
I am…. If free… I’ll use it. I don’t know about $70. Even with their 2-1 deal… it’s hard to justify $70.
25 August 2009 at 6:33 am #
That’s why we said it would be free
21 August 2009 at 1:41 pm #
I only want it if you keep adii rockstar all over it.
22 August 2009 at 3:59 am #
Awesome stuff. I’ve always had this belief that people actually want to be me…
21 August 2009 at 6:33 pm #
As long as it doesn’t slow down the release of “The Edition”
22 August 2009 at 3:57 am #
Scouts honour, it won’t!
21 August 2009 at 7:22 pm #
I have loved this design since day 1! Yes to free release! Although I would even pay for it
22 August 2009 at 3:53 am #
Released it will be then!
21 August 2009 at 11:13 pm #
I said yes! This is a perfect theme for personal blog!
22 August 2009 at 1:10 am #
Yes its really good theme to be included
22 August 2009 at 3:38 am #
i agree
its geat themplate
22 August 2009 at 5:44 am #
Adii why not run it as a competition, the winner being the proud owner of the custom built 1 off theme designed by Adii
24 August 2009 at 12:29 am #
We’ll consider that, but dunno whether the effort would be worth the marketing value.
22 August 2009 at 3:29 pm #
To be honest, this looks great and would be a nice addition to woothemes catalogue, but I’d much rather have Antisocial released first. I’ve been longing for Antisocial since the day you gave us the teaser. You bastards!
24 August 2009 at 12:29 am #
We’re sorry to complicate your life like that!
But Antisocial will be out before we release this (yet to be given a title) theme…
25 August 2009 at 2:49 pm #
Who voted No? I WANT NAMES!
27 August 2009 at 1:11 am #
I like it. What I’d love is if the theme came with a PSD file so I could customize it – especially the cool background image.

I MUST have this theme! I’ve always enjoyed it when visiting adii.co.za and think it’s a must-have for bloggers. I love the simpicity and think it can be nicely used to profile urself as blogger.
Only thing that might be a problem is the big size of the font, if you write long articles like I do, you would get huge pages… Would be nice if you look into this, cause just making the font smaller probably ruins the design.
