Dual Releases, 50 Themes & 4-For-1’s
28. Oct, 2009 by Adii Rockstar in New Themes

Today is a very special day for us. The great thing about it (for you), is that we’re totally into sharing that special feeling.
Our very first theme was released on 2 November 2007. Now almost 2 years down the line, we’re extremely proud to announce that we’re releasing our 50th theme today. This is a significant milestone for us and one that we will definitely enjoy with a celebratory drink (or two) later.
A quick count of our themes collection would tell you that there were only 48 themes prior to today, which means that the two beauties (literally) we’re unleashing onto the world today will be theme numbers 49 & 50 respectively. To make these two themes even more significant, we need to mention that this is the first time ever that we’re releasing two themes on one day, AND both of these themes also celebrate the end of our Breast Cancer campaign for the month of October.
So you can understand why we’re pretty excited, right? Wait till you see those themes…
Royalle
The first theme we need to show you is Royalle by Sarah Parmenter. The best way to describe Royalle would be to say that it’s Antisocial’s pretty, younger sister. The design oozes lady-like sophistication & beauty. The theme however is about so much more than that…
Built on the robust WooFramework (as always), Royalle is a flexible theme that could basically be used for just about anything. At first glance, you’ll see that the theme is all about blogging & social media, and we can’t deny that those are the main features of the theme. But the design can easily be swapped around and be used for a wedding website (for example). The only limitation of the theme is therefore your imagination.
We also know that the pink default style will most likely not be the guys’ favourite choice, never fear the theme is packaged with 5 awesome alternative colour schemes; so there’s one for everyone.
Read a little more about Royalle’s theme features or check out the demo and start conceptualizing the next project you’ll work on using this theme.
f0101
Next one is the awesome f0101 by another top female designer – Veerle Pieters. To describe f0101 is a pretty hard task, because whilst it looks like a simple theme, it packs a hard punch.
Similar in layout to Veerle’s previous theme for us – Abstract – we asked her to design something that was representative of her amazing, illustrative style. So f0101 is also probably best suited for personal bloggers, as it sports strong blogging & social media sections just like Royalle. The illustration on the left (which can be swapped out for an illustration or photo of yourself) is also probably a sure sign of f0101’s blogging focus.
But as I did with Royalle, I’d like to challenge everyone to think outside the box when viewing the demo of f0101. If you strip the theme of its personal / blogging focus, you are left with a very clean & sophisticated design that could be used for anything.
Just from the top of my head, I can see f0101 being adapted as a photoblogging or portfolio website, which can also be used by small agencies (not just individuals). f0101 also includes 10 alternative styles (for both the guys & girls) to get you started on that unique personalization of f0101.
Read the theme features for more details on f0101.
Doubling up on some 4-for-1 fun…
And in true WooSpirit, we’d like for you to celebrate this special milestone of ours with us by doubling up on our permanent 2-for-1 offer.
From today until the end of October, you’ll be able to purchase any 4 themes (on either a Standard or Developer package) for the price of 1. Essentially what this means is that you’re saving a further 50% on our standard 2-for-1 promotion. That’s 50% off!
So grab any of our themes and join in on the action. Also remember that if you buy either Royalle or f0101 we’ll donate all of the proceeds from those two themes to charity; so pick your purchases wisely!
Go pink, double up on the 4-for-1 and celebrate this day with us!
To take advantage of this offer simply pick 1 of the themes you would like and go through the purchase process with it, you’ll then be prompted to specify which 3 bonus themes you want to receive.

Girl Power !! These are two AMAZING themes, the level is here really high !!
28 October 2009 at 10:24 am #
F0101 is perfect for personal bloggers. But I can’t disable the background imagery
28 October 2009 at 10:25 am #
Are you referring to on the demo? As it needs to be done via the backend theme options that you do not have access to.
28 October 2009 at 10:46 am #
today in the morning I’ve tryed the demo and it was ok, I disabled the image via the theme options. Now I’ve loaded the official theme pack and I can’t disable it…
Why I have’nt access to do this? And how can I now enable the pic?
28 October 2009 at 10:58 am #
I’ve notified Fox and Fresh and a fix should be imminent.
28 October 2009 at 11:04 am #
thanks Mark. Now I replaced the default picture with my own and rename it. But I can’t also persuade the check box to stay the background illustration in a fixed position
28 October 2009 at 10:54 am #
Congrats guys! I’m looking forward to the next 50, haha.
28 October 2009 at 11:02 am #
Thanks for these awesome themes!
28 October 2009 at 11:44 am #
Also one more thing the Two Logos in f0101 theme Not Looking well they are different sizes and i prefer making some thing like the logos here in the footer of wootheme official website for woo theme and the hosting company this better than the logos in the footer of the theme
Its not fair to say all problems without mention that i like the themes too much Specially the F0101 Theme im sure it will get the high rank in woo theme soon
Good Job
Kinda Regards
Ahmed

28 October 2009 at 12:17 pm #
Just thought I’d say, the page for f0101 brings up an error.
‘Warning: include(single-themes.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/wootheme/public_html/wp-content/themes/woo2/single.php on line 24
Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ’single-themes.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /usr/home/wootheme/public_html/wp-content/themes/woo2/single.php on line 2′
28 October 2009 at 12:41 pm #
Thanks… It was our cache plugin fooling us
28 October 2009 at 1:29 pm #

however, now it works fine, and I would say Thanks for your good support in the last years (do you remember – the polaroid theme
) and now we are looking forward – to the next fifty themes – Congrats!
28 October 2009 at 2:34 pm #

28 October 2009 at 4:03 pm #
Great looking blog themes for a very worth cause! That being said, I too sincerely hoping that this will free you up to work on Delegate.
Wordpress themes are becoming much of muchness these days and Delegate promises the looks of a theme forest theme with the unrivalled sophistication of the uber-awesome-woo-framework. Cant wait!
28 October 2009 at 5:33 pm #
Awesome deal! Do they all have to be purchased at the same time? I’d like to pick up the Therapy and Antisocial but also wanted that my.stream theme that hasn’t been released yet. Is this possible?!?
29 October 2009 at 1:12 am #
Yes, you have to pick 4 themes now to take advantage of it. my.stream is still a long way from release…
29 October 2009 at 7:08 am #
What about Delegate? I’d love Delegate before 31st.. :/
29 October 2009 at 7:14 am #
Unfortunately Delegate will most definitely not be available for the 31st…

29 October 2009 at 9:08 am #
They look nice. I’ve modified the Gotham News theme for a client: http://www.rafaelanchia.com – it is still in the works, but I love all the woothemes and use them on all my sites.

I join everyone in congratulating you for having created 50 themes.
I beg you, though, to consider ramping up efforts to create more business-focused CMS themes…emphasis on pages vs categories…different sorts of home image presentations besides the slider…even vertical left-side navigation instead of horizontal, if that is possible. Full width nav bars (clients often have a lot to say). Home tops with 2/3 image and right column, rather than the image taking up all the width.
I’d say The Station is the closest to what I’m talking about, is some regards.
I think there is a huge market for using WordPress as a small-biz CMS solution, but it really amazes me how few really biz-ready WP themes are generally available out-of-the-box. Not just here…just generally. My impression is that personal to biz themes must be 80% vs 20%, if that, on premium sites.
There’s some good money in that area to be had…for everyone.
Again, great job and love the themes. Just am dying for more business CMS variety to choose from, where one solution looks nothing like the other…
29 October 2009 at 11:11 am #
Keep checking the blog; we have 5 very different business themes on their way in the next 3 / 4 months!
29 October 2009 at 11:20 am #
Wow, that’s good to know!
You said 3/4 days, right? Right?
29 October 2009 at 11:24 am #
We move pretty fast, but unfortunately not *that* fast… Plus, it’s the end of the year and we’re all feeling slightly jaded and in need of a rest.
29 October 2009 at 11:12 am #
As you can see from our theme leaderboard, there is a great market for not only CMS themes (CB, Vibrant, OE) but also the magazine themes which die hard: http://www.woothemes.com/theme-leaderboard/
But we totally agree with you, and have 3 biz themes lined up currently, but they are all still in the Photoshopping stage, as we are busy getting out our back catalog of themes and trying to please everybody
29 October 2009 at 11:29 am #
I count 5 business / CMS themes…
Maybe you haven’t been to the Basecamp writeboard recently… #countagain
29 October 2009 at 1:41 pm #
It’s great that you mentioned magazine themes, Magnus. Those are often the ones I go “this one will work for a small business,” only to realize that the category vs page set-up kills them.
But their 2 & 3 column layouts, different ways of treating main images (e.g., Busy Bee vs. Vibrant CMS), etc, are exactly the sorts of things I’m always looking for and rarely finding for small biz work.
If you think of a dry cleaner, an electrician, a 30-person pharmaceutical company, etc., a lot of these sorts of companies are looking for a Gazette sort of home page, only without “read the full story” postings approach. They don’t want a giant image on the front, necessarily, and want to get a few different sales messages covered on the home page that aren’t snippets to another page. They need a full-width nav bar with 2-3 child levels. Maybe even a little less modern and a little more conservative.
I think that’s what many magazine themes offer, but I don’t think they’re easy to transform to a business CMS site. If “Gazette” were CMS page-based, I think it would be a huge hit for small biz sites. Gazette, Gotham News, I would already be using those for small biz if I could…they are just perfect in many ways!
I hope it’s this sort of approach you’re looking at in the next few months for biz CMS…layouts that are more like what I’m describing here, rather than more riffs on the same basic layout approach, with a giant slider always full-width at the top.
The reason I mentioned left-vertical nav is because some business clients need more content than a horizontal nav can contain. So a left-vertical nav with slide-out child levels would be a very, very useful thing to find in a template. I rarely see that sort of nav, and I’m not sure why.
Want to make sure, again, that I’m not coming across as unappreciative of what you guys are doing, just yearning/giving a little customer feedback.
29 October 2009 at 1:44 pm #
Thanks for the input, I’ll be sure to use some of it constructively in the future

Great post.
+1
29 October 2009 at 11:46 am #
A big *COSIGN* on Keith’s comments. The small biz CMS themes that you guys have a great — I just wish there were more. As he said, there is a huge market out there for it.
Great news to hear about the business themes in development!
29 October 2009 at 11:32 am #
Geez, in a rush to hit 50 much! These themes are weak for your usually very strong portfolio. Failin’ Affiliate
29 October 2009 at 11:38 am #
The themes were definitely not rushed and judging by most other people’s positive feedback, I’d put your comment down to differing personal preference.
29 October 2009 at 1:45 pm #
Totally feel pity on your comments about Woo! You’re totally having no idea about Wordpress themes either ! (no offense!)
31 October 2009 at 10:14 am #
That is interesting news and I do love the girl-like theme. You rocks again
1 November 2009 at 12:31 pm #
I want to purchase but Its to late!
4 November 2009 at 11:27 pm #
@Loretta
That happened to me on a past sale. So I became a member instead. Pulled in by Woo marketing ? Maybe, but it’s great to be able to pick and choose from any theme as projects come up, and also to be happily surprised when a new theme or two suddenly pops up.
