We know we’ve been sending so many new theme teasers your way and that some of you feel like those teasers never get released, but this time that’s not the case. Exactly a month ago we showed you a teaser for Therapy and today Therapy is available for purchase.
The only themes that ever get released this quickly (on WooThemes), is the kind of themes that Magnus ends up designing & coding in a weekend, so whilst not unprecedented, it’s also great for us to be able to push out a theme a month after teasing it.
We think Therapy is an amazing alternative for those personal bloggers out there and coupled with the spiffy social media widget, we’ve pretty much covered your bases. In fact the feedback on both the teaser and the beta preview persuaded us to actually release this as a paid theme (we did initially consider to release this as a free theme).
So give your WordPress a little bit of TLC, R&R and then some Therapy. You may just need it and we think you thoroughly deserve to treat yourself a little! Get Therapy Now!
Therapy Desktop Wallpaper
Got a desktop that is scattered with icons, files & what not? Then you surely need yourself some Therapy…
Adapted from the theme’s very visual, yet soothing background imagery, this wallpaper will definitely look great on *any* desktop. So download away and get yourself some Therapy!
The wallpaper is available in 5 different sizes:

Very nice. Reminds me of Meta-Morphosis, which not a bad thing.
Hey woothemes, nice theme but after so long break.but we all know you were busy in shifting your server and how much time it takes that I too know because my site too has gone pass to such situation
The server switch didn’t have anything to do with it
We just need to space out our themes and release them when they are properly beta tested.
At last a real personal blog-theme, woho!
More of this!
Is there any setting to remove the customized fonts on the headers?
That looks like Cufón text replacement to me. It should be easy to undo I’d think.
Yep simply remove the cufon lines in header.php if you don’t want to use cufon.
Super, thanks!
Why is the replacement font embedded in the header instead of declared in the style sheets? Very confusing. It might be nice as part of the documentation to have a basic diagram of how the styles flow for all of us newbie hacks. And it might also be nice to have a consistent Woo standard for how styles are organized. Seems like each of the themes I’m about to purchase have a different organization depending on who did the work. Otherwise, I like it, and I’m a happy customer.
We’re standardizing this more and more. Cobus (FRESH01) spent about 2 days a week or so ago to standardize the structure & styles within our CSS files for the WooFramework. So going forward, we’ll have an even better standardized approach to this.
And the Cufon replacement font needs to be in the header, as it is JS; not CSS.
Very nice theme, perfect for a personal blog. Keep them coming!
Great work by all involved with Therapy, I’ve been waiting for it’s release for weeks and I’m now using it on my blog
Well i cant say i got impressed by this theme its looks very simple
there is not a lot of qury or featured things , the theme is very basic
1: the submit button in the comment template did you saw hows its looking hows the writing on it direct to right more than left not centered ( imean )
2: i dont like hows the comments appear in the post ithink its can be better than this
The thing i like in the theme is the Sidebar Social Icons and links looks nice
Regards
Fixed the “Submit” button alignment now
hmmmm. I guess I have a problem using special letters in German like: ü, ö ä and so on. They are simply missing.
Is there a workaround or bugfix for that? This must be the cufon thing.
Yes, you have to re-upload the Qlassik font to cufon (http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/) and include the glyphs that you need.
I’d recommend that you just check the Basic Latin set and add the ones you’ll need on the single characters field.
Just redownload the theme and replace includes/js/Qlassik.js, I added the Latin extra characters: http://www.jepson.no/u/p1h9sg.png
wow…. what a support – great thanks
This is amazing theme, congratulations..!
This is a great theme. I was sad to see that it is not free. I think I got it stuck in my head somehow that it would be based on this tweet: “What do you think of our upcoming (possibly free) theme, Therapy? –> http://bit.ly/qUoKe” which clearly states “Possibly” but I misread as “Hey, it’s gonna be free!”
Of course, because of all the overwhelming flood of positive input for it, it became not a free theme. You guys are running a great business, and I love capitalism!
I may just keep my ♥♥♥ over-excitement a little more hushed next time.
Great job guys!
I just dropped you a mail… Think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
I thought this theme might be free too, but from the overwhelming positive response, I could see why it was commercialized. It’s definitely one of the better blog-centric themes to be released in the last 6 months. Great colors and typography!
Hehe, yeah we’ve still got to look after our business interests as well. So finding a balance between free & paid themes, as well as deciding which themes will be free releases is definitely what makes our job that little bit harder…
I’m just happy to get freebies whether they’re themes, icons, etc.
And we’re happy to give them!
I think this is a great looking theme in its default appearance, but I’m a bit disappointed that the other colour schemes are nowhere near as good (the black, red and gold ones all look awful). Nevertheless, it may be a theme that I pick up for a small side project coming up…
What do you mean awful? I think they look terrific!
Adi, so does this mean your releasing Mystream for free?
That has yet to be decided, but maybe…
Wow, some tough love on Therapy here. I love it, I think it’s awesome just the way it is. Maybe I’m just having a design block, but I’m having a hard time finding what I would change about it. Great job Magnus, very nice!
Why are you thanking me?
(I didn’t design or code this one)
It’s because everybody loves you Magatron.
It’s good to see the new theme released. This is a awesome theme, congratulations..!
Hey,
Love the Therapy theme and have been thinking about using it but I have to say I am disappointed it’s not free, not because I don’t want to pay for it but because you previously said “And that awesomeness is probably compounded by the fact that it’ll most probably end up being a free release as well…”
Now I know you said “probably”, but that really was misleading as I would say most people would have read that as “it will be free”
Just my 2 cents worth
Cheers
Dan
It was most probably going to be free, until we spent another week testing and coding some great new user contributed features into it, which made it worth the price tag
We’ll try to not use the Carlsberg word too much in the future
Yay! Finally it’s out. Gonna get mine today. Thanks Woo!
I have been focusing on re-working Big Easy, but I might switch to this theme for a prototype blog for mindstreaming architects. I wonder why blogs that are in a similar category like these don’t pull in a larger pool of Woo widgets. For example, I’d like to stream a variable # of tweets and delicious bookmarks into the sidebar of Therapy in a similar way to Big Easy. For kicks, I copied and pasted the B.E. delicious sidebar widget into the themes-widget.php file, and it seems to work, but needs to be styled which could be anticipated by the developer. The twitter widget fails. With enough time and advil I can hack my own mods, but it seems like you could add even more value to your product line by making it easier to customize through more standardization of style sheets and widgets.
You can always try the excellent Lifestream plugin by David Cramer.
Otherwise, drop a post in the support forum and we may be able to provide more detailed guidance.
My twitter widget seems to be failing too. Is this something within the theme or the widget itself? Just wondered if there’s anything I can do because it’s a big waste of header space if it’s not reflecting any of my tweets.
It shouldn’t be a problem, but drop us a post in the support forum, so that we may help out!
Another excellent design by Izuddin; he definitely gets my vote for Woo’s Academy Awards: categories “Best Designer for 2009″ and “Breakthrough Designer”. Wouldn’t it be nice to have this type of event on yearly basis?
This also marks another solid release by the Woo Team; which unfortunately was somewhat clouded by the “Most Probably Free” campaign. Oh well…Woo fans should not worry, Woo founders will definitely figure out a way to “pleasantly surprise” us in the near future.
Maybe it’s just me but when I view the demo in IE7, the rounded corners on the sidebar elements do not show. They work fine in Firefox.
That’s because rounded corners aren’t supported in IE7…
We’ve used CSS3 and decided to only gracefully degrade the use thereof in browsers that don’t support it; instead of using image replacement.
Right-o. Thanks for the clarification.
