A Sneak-Peak at 2010

by Adii Rockstar in Theme Concepts

As we prepare to bombard you with some absolutely amazing new themes in 2010, we wanted to give you at least a little bit of a sneak preview of the new stuff before we close out the year.

Our new batch of themes (i.e. these are designs that have been completed and are ready for development) includes collaborations with the likes of Sam Brown, Liam McKay, Ryan Downie, Mads Esjing, Kirstin Pauk & Chris Rowe; so there’s bound to be something you like in the new year.** The batch also includes themes across all of our ranges i.e. magazine, portfolio, business & personal blogs.

Here’s a very sneaky preview (we’ll follow up with more detailed previews closer to the respective theme’s release dates)…

teasers

** There’s also some new designs coming from both in-house, with some incredibly exciting new stuff from Magnus, Mark & Cobus. So come January, we’ll be firing on all cylinders in bringing you only the most awesome WordPress designs.

I am so glad i signed up for the developer membership of woothemes.

At first i was not so sure of the ‘custom.css’ way of adapting the themes for clients but now I see that it is a very sensible and efficient way of doing things.

Would like to see more widgetised areas though (especially on the homepage) as I want clients to be able to change information / images etc on their hompage.

How about a homepage page template too on each theme ?

      Hey Kirk,

Clients can still change the info / images on the front page can’t they? Most of our themes have a custom homepage, so not quite sure what you mean by page template. Do you want to convert the index.php into a page template? Can you explain why?

Some of the typography looks promising. I’d really like to see a couple of themes with a big effort put into the type selections – maybe with a consulting artist just specialising in type.

I think I see some of the Tumblr inspiration you’ve been talking about in a couple of these themes. Love the teaser, can’t wait to see what’s coming!

Um, can’t see much of the themes and none of them look like Delegate. However I used to live on Castle Terrace, that is cut in half on the map just coming off Lothian Road and right next to Edinburgh Castle in the map lol – excellent choice!

The idea was to not give away too much with regards to the designs themselves, but just feed all the Woo fanboys & -girls little bits of the upcoming awesomeness. And both Delegate & Postcard weren’t included above as they are already in the works (full previews here) and should be out before the end of the month.
