Some of you might have already seen this, but for those of you that don’t follow us on Twitter (or in fact- the whole WooTeam), we’ve decided to make it a little easier to get in on some optimized action…

After the rip-roaring success of Magnus’ Coffee Break design (which is probably our fastest selling theme of 2009), he opened up his Photoshop for one last hurrah (for this year anyway) and got designing on another cracker of a business theme. Since we launched WOO2 back in June of this year, we’ve been getting so many requests for us to release our (custom btw) design as a theme, so with Magnus’ new design, we needed to take that into account as well (since we love giving you exactly what you want).

The result is a slick new design entitled Optimize, which builds on Coffee Break’s success, as well as the popularity of our own design. Take a look…

Optimize with some Christmas spirit

We’ll be covering the features & functionality of Optimize in the release post (Optimize should be ready at the end next week), but in the meantime you can have a squizz at our beta demo that is online now. So if you want more, you’ll just have to wait for next week.

Beautiful – can’t wait to get my mitts on this one!

When I spotted the link over on Twitter, I had to go take a look! The live demo’s look so much better than just an image! ;) Anyway, the thought running through my mind was that it looked similar to the WooThemes.com design! – You’ve now confirmed that! – But I did open up both in two different tabs, and started switching between them for a couple of minutes! :D #imsad

I might just have to grab this whenever you release it?

That’s gorgeous… but guys, come on! If you keep releasing themes like this, I’m going to be re-designing my own site once a month! ;)

(there are worse problems to have than too much awesomeness, I suppose!)

You are right about one thing: there are worst problems in the world, than being persuaded by our awesomeness on a monthly basis! :)

    Ooh, I like that one.

And yes Magnus, cut it out. Or, wait, don’t. Ha!

Great looking theme. Will the video player also have a slider option? Also will you be able to use only the slider will no videos?

    • Magnus Jepson
      7 December 2009 at 2:41 pm #

What do you mean by slider option? The lighbox gallery (next/prev) function? This can’t be added to the main lightbox, but you can customize the code quite easily to add it.

Ok thanks Magnus. To be a little more clear what I was talking about was having the option in the theme options for either light box video or slider like was designed into Coffee Break. Perhaps leave the featured light box intact for the thumbnails but allow users to select between video or page slider.

There wont be a slider in this theme like coffeebreak unfortunately, as I wanted to go a different direction with this soit would be unique.

Brilliant, one of my favorite themes just got better. You can’t have enough business themes. The product features are a welcome addition, nice one.

That’s unfair. I just finished to tweak my Coffee Break theme.

I agree with everyone else. This one is very nicely done.
    Great job Woo team!

Just finished my site with Coffee Break. From the looks of it though it wouldnt be to hard to port it to optimize.

I am a big fan of your work Magnus. I really like this theme and the different colour options looks amazing. I think you were right not to put the slider on this one as that is already available with Coffee Break and this is a nice new option. Looking forward to playing with this one. Great work.

Huge fan of your work Magnus and this one is over the top. It’s clean, balanced and well thought out. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Will you be producing a portfolio page similar to the one shown on the flickr proofs?

    • Magnus Jepson
      8 December 2009 at 9:27 am #

      Thanks Brad!

I haven’t added the portfolio, but might add it later if it is requested…

Requested! The portfolio would be the icing on the cake.

Best theme yet. I agree that it’s the most refined and well thought out. Perhaps that’s why it’s called “Optimized”?

I would love to see a protfolio page template. Especially based on what you show on your Flickr stream. Looks awesome, as usual, Magnus!!

Requested! Demanded! :-) I downloaded the 1.0 version already. Cricket’s?

Magnus, my hat is off to you. You have expanded an eye catching element from Coffee Break and taken it even further. Good work!

The new framework is an excellent start. I am very excited about how it will further enhance the older themes.

Cufon/sIFR fonts would be a nice touch! Especially for the slogan

    Otherwise great work so far!

Also, is the redirected link in the drop down of page templates an external link option? That would be sooooo cool.

    • Magnus Jepson
      9 December 2009 at 1:37 am #

Yes the redirect page template is included in all our themes now :)

Just noticed that this amazing new page template you call redirecting has actually been around a while. Man, I’m quick.

I think the portfolio would be a nice touch to if it is possible at this stage as the theme ticks so many boxes for my and what I require for a website. I also agree it has got to be one of the best themes yet, looks amazing!

Wow just visited the portfolio that has got to be worth a beer as it looks amazing! I really like that you have added categories for the portfolio sections thats a really nice feature. This has got to be the best theme yet!

oh, one thing….Whilst looking though I noticed if you click on the web category or any other category the images that appear in the box presentation are a little different to the images showing for the category? Is this all ok?

    • Magnus Jepson
      11 December 2009 at 9:03 am #

Glad you like it :) Yeah the jQuery filter is pretty nice, and it sorts on tags you add to your portfolio posts.

I can’t see any difference in the portfolio items after you click on “Web” category? Do you mean the large images are different than the 450×210 thumbnails? They are not the same images…

      • MJ Stapleford
        12 December 2009 at 7:40 am #

Yeah it is looking really nice. Sorry for the bad explanation, I mean when you click on a category for example web design it shows 3 items Backstage, Headlines and Digital Farm but when you click on one of the images / large Thumbnails instead of opening these 3 items within a portfolio it shows all of the items (6 in total) taken from all of the different categories as it does not only show Backstage, Headlines and Digital Farm but also Therapy, Object and Coffee Break.

I was just wondering if it was possible to upload the images to separate portfolio galleries so the web design images would only show in the web design gallery and the design for print images would only show in the design for print portfolio gallery. Hope that makes sense :)

Did I read somewhere that the theme is out next week! Can’t wait for this one and a massive thank you for adding the portfolio its great.

        • Magnus Jepson
          12 December 2009 at 10:31 am #

Yeah that should be possible but then you could not have all in a gallery :( so either tag gallery or all… Maybe as an option?

AwesomeSauce! Like a previous poster said…you guys keep me on my toes with my own site upgrades/redesign. The 2 min. vid that Magnus posted on Twitter was really nice…I’m digging the backend on this theme. Any ETA on availability?
