Since we’re getting closer to releasing our two new tumblog themes towards the end of the month, we wanted to keep the momentum and hype going with another little teaser.
When we teased you with these previews a week ago, we mentioned that the themes would include some jQuery wizardry, as well as progressive usage of CSS3. To give you an idea of what we’re talking about, you can view Cobus’ new design which he launched over the weekend.
We’d like to think that considering that Cobus designed both Cinch & Slanted and that since he’s responsible for the front-end coding, you can expect some similar awesomeness from our tumblog themes. So click around his new site and start anticipating the awesome that we will be releasing soon.

How easy would it be to use your Tumblr themes on Posterous?
Note that they’re not Tumblr themes; they’re tumblog themes similar to Tumblr, but running on WordPress. We’re exploring doing Tumblr & Posterous themes as well.
Wow :O
I am not a big tumblog fan but this theme looks awesome!
Awesome. Amazing coding ideas there.
I’ve already purchased Cinch in my mind. I can’t wait.
Finally it’s coming can’t wait to get my hands on one !! And Fresh01 Website is just plain awesome. This is just the kind of design you see on top notch designers websites around the world but rarely released as premium themes.
Great work !
Wow… I’ve been waiting for these, and Cobus’ site looks awesome, from the fonts to the changing meta balloons – fantastic.
I wouldn’t have been crowned your “most difficult to please customer” if I didn’t find fault with this too.
Your example site is an absolute classic example of the famous “mystery meat navigation”. My understanding is that unlabelled icons and symbols have been shown in usability studies to be a big turn off for users.
So we should put the text “Home” next to the icon that looks like a little house? Or “down” next to the down arrow icon? They seem pretty self-explanatory to me…
Whilst your comment holds merit, this is most definitely not something that we’ll be racking our brains about. They may not be a perfect solution in relation to usability, but they sure as hell look & work mightily fine!
You need my comments to help balance the overwhelming rain of praise you always get. It’ll help keep you feeling like ordinary humans rather than Gods of Code.
Stop teasing, I feel like a 13yr old schoolboy looking at one of my elder brothers hidden stash of magazines
Hidden magazines? Stashed away? Naughty…
The tumblog themes will be ready next week! So won’t have to wait too much longer.
I already have a domain, content and all sorts of ideas ready to be unleashed.
I’m just waiting for the theme.
(See what you guys do to us?!)
Played a bit with the themes, looking awesome
wait… THIS IS COMING TO WOOTHEMES?? HA! I am SO glad I am a club member. Wicked cool.
HOT! DO. WANT.
Cobus’ new design looks a little too much like Manifest, by Jim Barraud. http://jimbarraud.com/manifest/
You are joking, right? I don’t see one similarity, beyond the fact that the content is centered.
LMAO…. Its almost a mirror image!!! Cobus = 100% original
He has gotta be joking. No similarities at all. Great theme.
These type of great designs are really taking woothemes on the top of the premium wordpress market
These themes are a new experience for me and I will do more research. Thanks
Hi,
Will you ever consider releasing templates for Joomla too? Would be awesome if you decided to that sometime after 1.6 hit the shelves.
You guys do the most amazing designs I have ever witnessed, and they totally kick ass compared to the professional Joomla templates out there from Rockettheme, Yootheme and Prothemer. Makes them all look like some work of a 14 year old kid. ;o)
So, Joomla is maybe the biggest CMS there is, it got a fantastic plugin system (which you should develop with Nooku if you ever decide to head that way) and really, really, really could need something as good looking as your templates. Would make a beggar suddenly look like a hollywood star.
Regards
Kris
I really think that Joomla is clunky. I don’t see why people download it, and use it as their CMS over WordPress. WordPress is quick, and has an easy-to-use back-end. Joomla’s backend features un-styled text boxes, and is relatively slow.
