Send Some WooLove

by Adii Rockstar in Promotions

To celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day, we’ve decided to create a unique, little promotion that is sure to attract the attention of your loved ones and friends. We’ve been known to do the occasional “X-for-1″ promotion and whilst we know you adore them, we’d like to challenge you to send the WooLove to others this time.

So here’s the deal: We’ve created a new Valentine’s Day section in your user account dashboard which will allow you to send as much WooLove to as many of your friends, family members, and business contacts as you like. This WooLove will be sent out in the form of a special Valentine’s email that will include your details, and more importantly: a unique 50% OFF discount coupon for individual theme purchases for every friend that you send it to!

Pretty cool, huh? We think your friends would really appreciate some of that WooLoveDon’t you?

And we’ll cut you into that deal too… We will include your own affiliate link in the e-mail. So for every friend that clicks through to the site and accepts your invite to become their WooValentine, you’ll be getting 20% of any purchases. There isn’t an easier way to earn some cash than that…

But wait! There’s more…

Oh, how we have wanted to use this phrase in a blog post…

For the whole period that the WooLove promotion will be active (12 – 19 February), we will be checking who of you are the smoothest cupids when it comes to convincing others to be your WooValentine. The person that generates the most purchases amongst his / her friends during this period will win a brand-new Apple MacBook as a prize! You read it right: just send some WooLove to as many friends as possible and you may actually win an Apple Macbook!

Notes & Rules

This is what you would need to do:

  1. Log into your user dashboard over here.
  2. Go to the special Valentine’s Day page to send some WooLove.
  3. Add as many friends / recipients as you like, then customize the message if you see fit.
  4. Click “send” and the WooLove will be on it’s way to your friends.
  5. Forget a few friends? Go back to step 3 & repeat. :)

And then just a few rules:

  • The promotion runs from 12 – 19 February. That’s it.
  • If you win the MacBook, you can always ask us for the cash instead.
  • Please DON’T SPAM! Only send the WooLove to actual friends & people you know.

Got it? Now go send some WooLove already!

Nice promo! I’d add in a “Retweet” option too though.

There is a retweet option above the comments :)

I think Kai ment that if you Retweet you can be in the running like how other brands promote. Some worry about MLMing and rightfully so. Obviously and alternative solution while increasing exposure to products.

You guys are too much sometimes. Great themes AND giveaways?

People are stupid if they just don’t outright subscribe instead of buying one-off themes. :D

Hehe, that’s what we say as well, but we understand that most of our users prefer not to commit to a monthly cost…

Subscription discount would have been more awesome, but this is in no way bad either, on the contrary, great!

Too bad that MacBook is probably going to someone with a huge number of Twitter followers. :)

Thanks WooTeam and have a nice Valentine’s Day!

      12 February 2010 at 9:53 am #

Not necessarily. The trick is not to spam as many contacts or followers as possible. Instead you need to send this to as many people that trust your opinion, as they are more likely to actually purchase some themes and give you a chance of winning the MacBook! :)

i don’t understand how this helps me. i would purchase the developer pack myself if i got 50% off. but you’re only giving the discount to my contacts? my contacts don’t do blog design. and i already have a macbook.

    Hi there,

same over here Amy – I’d love to receive the coupon as well, as I’ve been looking into buying a developer’s theme for a while and this is a really good deal…

    Thanks in advance WooThemes!

Hey, does the code that is given work for a number of people or only that one person/friend?

    Wondering about this

    12 February 2010 at 12:18 pm #

I will email my friends… but I do have a quick qustion. How exactly do I when the Macbook? Do I have to have a certain number of subscriptions?

    Thanks

It is conversion based. So the person who gets the most amount of new customers to sign up from the emails they have sent will win.

As Adii wrote in a comment prior to this the trick is to not spam people, but pick your email recipients cleverly.

Can I put a banner on my blog like I usually do, without sending e-mails…???

    • Mark Forrester
      13 February 2010 at 8:49 am #

Hi Alex, this campaign is email based, hence no affilate ad banners have been created.

how about the subscription. any discounts on that too?

The offer is limited to theme package purchases.

  16. Krista Summitt
    12 February 2010 at 5:32 pm #

Any affiliate ads with the Valentine’s theme? 125×125 even?

    • Mark Forrester
      13 February 2010 at 8:48 am #

Not for this campaign, as it is not quite appropriate and aimed to encourage existing clients to email potential new customers and earn affiliate money.

      • wp themes
        13 February 2010 at 11:42 am #

Interesting. Looking at my contacts I am the person who benefits from this campaign more than all of my contacts combined. WooThemes provide a service to me so that I can extend that service to my clients and friends. Only a hand full of my friends even know what wordpress is and they have no use for it. Of the contacts that use wordpress they are currently Woo customers.

So to say the campaign was not designed as a full affiliate program to promote as you normally would promote any offer is difficult. Its like dangling a carrot in front you but telling you that only if you meet certain requirements can you participate.

The bottom line is I am promoting this thing hard and heavy cause I really could use a Macbook. I love promoting WooThemes anyways but throw in a Macbook, and I’m pumped.

I’m up for a bit of this! Just one pre-purchase question…… I need to use someone elses card to buy it. By doing this will it automatically send all emails to their email or can you send them to mine. (I have had previous problems with e-junkie in regard to this)

    • svenaldo
      13 February 2010 at 11:27 pm #

scrap that. FAQ cleared it up. Payment and download two different things…..great. I’m off to purchase now.

    Hi!

Do this promo also applies in standard package or as well as in the developers package? Because I really need a new theme for my blog though I am still using Woo’s irresistible theme. Been waiting for 3 months for my theme and all I got from my programmer is a psd file so this will be a great opportunity to buy a high quality theme. Thanks!

Yes is does apply to the developer package. Also, you will get the 4 for 1 offer as well.

I’ve posted about this offer on my blog and have had at least 15 people request for a promo code but so far I’ve only got 1 purchase credited to my account. Is there a way to track the purchase and give me credit for referring a customer?

    • adsense themes
      19 February 2010 at 3:09 pm #

John, my guess would be that the coupon would have you as the referrer. Its killing me waiting to find out who won the Macbook. I hope they announce it at the end of the day instead of waiting till Monday.
