Beta Testers Needed

14

by Adii Rockstar in WooThemes News

We’re once again expanding our operations and our themes collection will soon be sporting some awesome new themes built for Drupal & TextPattern.

So before we’re ready to unleash these new goodies, we need to make sure that we have covered all of our bases, and that they are indeed as top-notch as we think they are! We therefore need two new beta testing groups that could help us out and give us some valuable feedback before the launch.

If you have experience with either Drupal or TextPattern, please drop us an e-mail and tell us which CMS you are interested in, and perhaps link to some projects you’ve worked on (also include a little bit of info on yourself). Once we’ve received your mail, we’ll review your credentials and add you to the appropriate beta testing group.

bro…. textpattern is one of the worst CMS’s I’ve ever used. its like not fun at all and not that useful to…

And not lot of people use it…. you should rather go for OC Portal or even better Joomla — one the most used CMS/…

Anyways Drupal is another cool CMS and I’ve used it before in one of my websites… before switching to the simpler and easier WordPress. And drupal is also hard to understand for a beginner…. so, many won’t consider switching from simpler options like WOrdPress.

You guys should also consider making some themes for forums…. like vbulletin – most used……… or Phpbb — again used a lot…..(that too free)….

only people who consider a community website will consider Drupal —- anyways Joomla also does that with even more ease!….

I believe… you guys should not waste time on stuff like textpattern and consider other CMS’s/////

Your work is TOP NOTCH. There’s a newish (5+ years old, I think) open source CMS called Concrete 5 that I believe to be one of the best CMS systems I’ve even seen. It’s not as fleshed out with add-ons like Drupal or Joomla; but it’s much much easier to use for a designer or developer but has just a much potential to do anything that they can do; so I think that it’s a matter of time before it has a following like Word Press. Right now, the marketplace for Concrete 5 is in a good position for Woo to set up shop and rule the school. There aren’t that many commercial theme sites out there for Concrete 5 and you stuff would blow the competition away and make you the defacto theme company for the CMS. Developers are already jumping on it; but themers haven’t really touched it much. Be the first big fish in a soon to be big pond. Think about it.

Yeah, I find it unbelievable that they choose to make themes for something as crappy (sorry, but for end-users it is) and non-user friendly as textpattern. I can’t for my bare life imagine normal people will ever use something like that over Joomla.

Joomla is like way much better than that. Joomla has an incredibly big community, over 15 million downloads, loads of extensions and in need of some serious template builders like woothemes..

So please, please, please come to the Joomla camp and help us out. We’re like in more need of your help than Textpattern ;)

you’re damn right man… Joomla has loads of extension, modules, and there are many cool theme maker for Joomla like Yoothemes, rocket-themes, Joomla-Praise and loads of more….
All those theme makers are really cool and make great themes…
Woo themes is known for making simple and clean and easy to use themes… and if woo themes enter the Joomla market I believe it would be great>..

And yeah man, textpattern sucks!!! You ain’t gonna find CMS’s like Joomla….. hey Woo I have used and created some simple themes for Joomla before and I know… Joomla theming is a bit more complicated than WordPress and EE……. and I really don’t know anything about TextPattern… but please don’t waste time in textpattern and utilize the time in stuff like Joomla..

Why do you say Textpattern sucks, when you haven’t used it? ;)

bro…. the day you announced that you need testers for textpattern…… I installed it on my server and did a little fiddle with it…. and seriously bro…. it is nowhere near stuff like Joomla or even drupal…. and even there are few users!!..

We think it’s worth the effort though. The themes are being ported by a 3rd party. More choice in CMS is better than less ;)

@Magnus…… anyways I was just saying it man….. You guys make some of the coolest out there for WordPress… and if you guys are gonna enter Joomla it’s gonna be great!!!!

Anyways I am gonna buy your backstage theme next week for a client,,…… and please dude… make some more themes like backstage….
