This week marks another first for WooThemes (this may not be the only first for us this week btw), with the introduction of a new concept called The WooWeek.
Earlier this month, we realized that due to a “routine” development process of design / developing new themes and fixing bugs in old themes, we don’t necessarily always have the opportunity to spend time working on the non-critical stuff. So with the WooWeek, we’re hoping to take a couple of days and spend it on some non-critical stuff that we hope to improve in & around WooThemes.
The WooWeek is obviously still a new concept around here, so we’re not even sure what we’ll be working on this week and how much we’ll be able to finish, but as always we at least plan to take you along with us on this ride. We started off working on a few things this morning – none of them related to releasing new themes – and hopefully we’ll be able to show you some progress come Friday.
Beyond us working on a few different things, everything else will still continue running as is; customer service & support, as well as urgent bug fixes will still get priority. We also have a new theme (which we completed last week) that will be going out on Wednesday; so WooWeek won’t be that much different for you. Hopefully though the stuff we work on this week, will be significant enough, so that you will see & experience the difference (and the value thereof) in future.

Great idea, I think Google has something similar for their employees and I believe some of their best projects come out of this time. Looking forward to your results.
Yep, as far as I know Google employees are supposed to spend 20% of their time working on their own ideas.
already a teaser for the theme on wednesday? What kind? Is it the sceduled theme with some time planing / events?
Maybe.
It’s the day
We’ll be announcing something else just now and the new theme release has been bumped to tomorrow.
- Sounds interesting and a must-have for every company, in my opinion.
Could be real interesting if it was possible to follow the wooweeks progress – so that we, could be an actual part of the “ride”…
Anyways – good luck on innovation and vitality!

Yep, this is most definitely something that we will consider for future WooWeek’s, as that is probably a WooWeek project in itself!
Sounds cool Adii. I agree with ArtCore about being able to follow along, which I think could add to the interaction of the WooWeek.
