The Not So Black Friday Sale: 5-for-1 AND 20% Discount

105

by Adii Rockstar in Promotions

First off, we hope that everyone that celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday experienced a truly blessed time. And then we hope that we can also sneak into your Black Friday shopping list with an amazing special…

So here we go…

The 20%, 5-for-1

We haven’t run one of these in ages, so we’ve figured it needs to make a much-needed comeback. But instead of going same-old, same-old we’ve decided to spice things up a bit. So not only can you get 5 themes for the price of 1, but we’ll further discount that 1 theme by 20%.

Confusing? :) This is what the prices look like:

  • The Standard Package: 5 themes for only $56.
  • The Developer Package: 5 themes for only $120.

That is amazing value for money there, especially considering that you can pick any 5 themes from our collection of 81 awesome themes!

How To Purchase: Pick any Standard or Developer Package theme, pick your 4 bonus themes and enter the coupon code “BLACKPACKAGE” to get your 20% discount.

Update: The 20% discount also applies to our Drupal, Magento & Expression Engine themes, but there is no bonus themes included with those.

But there’s more…

If you instead wanted to have a go at our Club Subscriptions, we can offer you a whopping 40% discount on those. This means:

How To Subscribe: Click the links above or from our pricing page to subscribe. No coupon needed. :)

We trust that we’ve just made your Black Friday shopping a tad more awesome! :)

Note that these offers are valid until midnight on Monday, 29 November 2010 Tuesday 30th November 2010 (We extended the special due to popular demand).

I am trying to order this and it keeps taking me to a page where it asks for a coupon code, I thought this didn’t need a coupon code

    • Magnus
      26 November 2010 at 12:16 pm #

You don’t need one for Subscriptions. Just leave it blank :)

Why 40%? Why not hit the psychological sales bell of $100 by making it 50%?

I mean, you will be making the full $20 a month, $240 a year forever thereafter from anyone who signs up. I’m sure you will get a lot of sign-ups today but it seems like dumb marketing, a missed opportunity to really shake the tree. For most people who haven’t already signed up to Woo, anything less than a solid 50% is going to be underwhelming, no real reason not to put it off for a few more months.

By comparison, WPMU Dev are giving 60% off all their memberships today. I’m not saying that their products are comparable to Woo, but they do know how to dazzle the crowd.

I guess it’s all subjective… :) Nobody else seems to be complaining about the amazing special on offer…

      • Paul Grieghan
        26 November 2010 at 10:40 pm #

Customers who decide not to buy don’t generally stick around to explain why, they just leave :)

Likewise, someone saying “We got the pricing right because we sold a thousand” can be self-deceiving because, of course, there is no way of knowing if a slightly different price might have doubled or tripled sales.

All I’m saying is that, as the discount is really just a smokescreen (because the price of ongoing subscription is the greater part of what people will pay over the first year and that remains undiscounted), it seems foolish to blunt your sales pitch for the sake of an extra $20. But, hey, I don’t KNOW that you would get more subscribers at $100, it is merely a hunch. I’m surprised that your gut doesn’t tell you the same thing.

In a world where relationships are becoming more important than ever, I would be doing all I could to get paying subscribers signed up; the subscription and the ensuing engagement, personal identification with and, ultimately, evangelisation of the brand to others should be more important.

Its hard to find the right balance in price, and many other factors come in to play. But thanks for your insight :)

            27 November 2010 at 3:02 am #

They’d get more subscribers at FREE, but everyone has to draw a line somewhere right? Why can’t we just be happy at the great deal thats being offered?

        • Zach lym
          29 November 2010 at 1:07 pm #

Seriously, you are complaining about a 5-for-1 AND the price is 40% off? Really dude?

      • Jesse
        27 November 2010 at 1:35 am #

Just a small opinion piece here but it would be really great if you guys would use the word “Amazing” and “Awesome” a bit less when talking about yourselves, projects and/or themes… from a psychological stand point many people (myself included) perceive that as being conceited and self absorbed…

Don’t get me wrong, your themes are great and the value I find here is amazing… but I find it better if you let your customers call them amazing than you doing it yourself :)

        • Magnus
          27 November 2010 at 2:01 am #

        • Magnus
          26 November 2010 at 5:12 pm #

Sorry, EE themes (and Drupal, Magento) do have a 20% discount, but you only receive one theme. The 5-for-1 offer does not apply.

Uhmm, I just realized right now that I can save a lot in your Standard Club Subscription, however, I already purchased your Standard Package, is there a way to so somewhat refund it then I will purchase the Standard Club Subscription?

And for the Standard Club Subscription, will I be billed $15 this month or it will start next month?
