The restaurant industry operates at an incredibly rapid pace. The reason for this is evident; the more covers the restaurant turns over in a single sitting, the more revenue the business brings in.

When established brick-and-mortar businesses (such as restaurants) first discover the internet, they often see a new channel through which to entice potential customers to visit their establishment. This is usually where their interaction with the internet ends.

Today’s release helps to expand the restaurant’s interaction with their potential customers via the internet.

Patrons of Café Woo, we present to you Bon Appétit, a tasty restaurant theme for WordPress.

A Healthy Appetite

Bon Appétit, translates directly to English as “good appetite”. We certainly have a good appetite for Canvas child themes! A specially styled integration with the Restaurant plugin for WordPress helps to whet your customer’s appetite for your exciting food menu.

Powered by Canvas

Bon Appétit is a child theme for our flagship WordPress theme, Canvas. Thus, the full power and flexibility of Canvas comes standard when combining Bon Appétit and Canvas. What a powerful combination!

A bit more about Bon Appétit

Bon Appétit aims to showcase your restaurant images in as bold a manner as possible, placing them front and centre for your customers to view, and to entice them to visit your establishment. With a large background image area as the main focus, placing an image of your signature dish here is sure to whet your customers’ appetites!

Your contact information is also placed in the header area of your website, making it easier for your customers to get in touch with you directly with any specific queries they may have.

3up

Designed, and developed, by our very own James Koster, Bon Appétit is ready to be shaped and crafted as desired with a few small tweaks using a CSS plugin.

To illustrate the power of Bon Appétit, we’ve set up a demo website to showcase the theme and to show off just how easy it is to get up and running with next to no effort.

We look forward to seeing the scrumptious restaurant websites you all create using Bon Appétit, Canvas, WooCommerce and any number of our wonderful WooCommerce extensions and exciting free plugins.

Looks nice! really like the home page presentation. I wonder if Projects plugin can be used instead of Restaurant plugin to work like a portfolio website. ?

      Thanks Sam! 🙂

I don’t see any reason the Projects plugin wouldn’t work. After all, it’s supported in Canvas out of the box. 🙂

I even see demos, and I don’t expect any of Woo: all themes are identical, and every release with less funtcionts than before.

    Woo, you were awesome.

      Hi Edmundo,

I’m sorry to hear you feel this way.

I’d urge you to take note that this is a child theme of Canvas, so all of Canvas’ features are available to this child theme.

Also note the slew of free plugins we’ve released over the past 2 years, making WooThemes theme features available to any WordPress theme (our Testimonials, Features, Our Team, Projects, Subscribe & Connect, Contact Details, Homepage Control and WooSidebars plugins, to name a few).

I hope this helps to inform your opinion, Edmundo. 🙂

Matty, I think you don’t understand, I am not the only one who think this, your themes are ugly, all look almost a copy one of another, and new releases thiner in options than one before, just take a look of Stitch vs. Canvas or Superstore, and plugins doesn’t cover all that you used to offer.

Just take a look to Divi theme of Elegant Themes, why don’t you launch something like?
You doesn’t release themes any month, ok, but you release ugly themes, poor, thiner, and with a apparience poor.

Please, tell us if you are focused on woocommerce and their plugins and not in themes anymore, it’s ok, but don’t offer poor products.

This is incredibly below WooThemes standards. I saw the headline and was excited by a restaurant theme but this is just a mess.

I love Canvas but these child themes leave a lot to be desired. There is so much amazing stuff available from TF & Elegant (that also support Woocommerce) that it really makes me question why I would ever extend my WooThemes membership. Outside of Canvas and a few WC extensions nothing new comes out to excite me anymore.

You really need a new mega theme (like Divi) that supports a page builder (like Visual Composer) and has amazing Woocommerce integration. We want to build larger than life shops and websites. We are paying you for those tools. That’s what I buy on Themeforest because that’s what our clients want.

    @Edmundo, @Shawn,

Thanks for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you’re not enjoying our Canvas child themes. The response we’ve seen has, overall, been great. 🙂

Regarding page builders, this is not functionality that belongs in a theme, especially when there are already some great page builder plugins available.

Thus, we’ve compiled a tutorial which shows how to use the SiteOrigin Page Builder (a great free page builder plugin) alongside Canvas.

If you’re looking for a theme that supports page builders, Canvas is the theme to choose. Using the SiteOrigin Page Builder, you can build just about any layout using Canvas. 🙂

“The response we’ve seen has, overall, been great.” …just as you can see in all new themes comments section, allright?!

        Hi Uwe,

To clarify, the blog post comments are just one of the many ways in which we engage with customers. We have emails, our help desk, our community forum, social media and more.

Over all of these media, the feedback we’ve received has been great. 🙂

Or you could use our Canvas PageBuilder plugin that has been extended to include a whole bunch of extra functionality just for canvas 🙂

Woo, I’ve bought a lot of your stuff, but you’ve fallen behind in the theme area. For reals. This Bon Appétit theme is sooo dated. And your last several releases have been mediocre, at best. Even your top theme, Canvas, doesn’t offer a full width page design – you’ve missed that entire design trend. And don’t get me started on how infuriating Canvas’ code formatting and indenting is to read. Uhg!

TL;DR Woo, you’re not my go-to theme provider any longer. I sincerely hope that changes.
