Everybody loves a free web icon set and we love releasing these once in a while. After seeing our WooFunction icon set has notched up almost 60 000 downloads thus far, we felt another web icon set was long overdue. So we set out to find an awesome designer to work with us…

Similarly to finding Tyler’s work for our upcoming tumblog theme – Crisp – we stumbled onto Janik Baumgartner‘s work on Dribbble and immediately got in touch with him to work with us on a new icon set. And to say that we’re pleased with the results, would be a complete understatement of the awesomeness in this icon set.

You’ll also see a smart, little naming convention for this icon set… WooCons #1 definitely suggests that we’ll be doing some more icons in future, since they always add a lot of value to any web design process. So that’s just another way in which we are adding some extra value…

Pictos: Free Tumblr Icons

We recently discovered Drew Wilson‘s amazing work on Dribbble and after seeing him publish this teaser post, we decided to contact him about working with the WooTeam to bring some of that awesomeness over here.

The result is a free, vector icon set which contains 21 icons that are perfectly suited for your Tumblr & tumblog needs. Considering that we have released three tumblog themes on WP and another four on Tumblr, we thought that icons in this niche would be a nice little added bonus for all of our users. So this is what that awesomeness looks like:

Simple & Bold Social Media Icons

When Veerle Pieters recently created the beautiful f0101 theme for us, she also designed a custom social media icon set which is used in our Social Profiles widget. We however decided that these awesome, little icons shouldn’t be limited only to WooThemes or f0101 users… So here’s the public release of those…

The Simple & Bold icon set includes 15 separate icons (sized at 16 x 16 pixels) for the most popular social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, Tumblr etc.). The icons are custom shape illustrations (in Photoshop) to allow you to change the one-tone colour to absolutely anything. The download package includes the 15 icons in 6 default colour schemes (in PNG format), as well as the Photoshop file to allow you to change the colours easily & quickly.

Twitter Birdie Icon

Here’s another awesome freebie that deserves to be shared with the world… This funky Twitter Birdie icon was designed by the amazing Veerle Pieters (originally used in our f0101 theme) and it’s a must-download for all serious web designers. And yes – we know there’s a plethora of Twitter icons out there, but we figured the world can do with another one…

The download package includes 5 PNG icons (sized 32×32, 64×64, 128×128 & 256×256), as well as Veerle’s original .ai (Adobe Illustrator) file to allow for some easy customization.

WooFunction: 178 Amazing Web Design Icons

In recent months we’ve worked quite hard to bring you some fantastic free stuff and we think that our growing collection of freebies is pretty awesome. So… Since icons are such a huge element in modern day web design, we decided to partner with one of the best icon designers we’ve come across to bring you a fantastic new web icon set.

We’ve worked with Liam McKay before on theme designs (5 to be exact) and we’ve always just admired his icon design work from afar. That however changes with the new WooFunction Web Icon Set which Liam recently completed for us.

The WooFunction Icon Set includes 178 amazing web-related icons in a sophisticated and glossy design style. All 178 icons are available as 32×32 pixel PNG files and we can assure you that they are indeed pixel-perfect. Free Hand-Drawn Web Icons Set

Last month when we released the 24 Social Media Icon Set by Alex Latimer, we promised that we’d soon follow it up with a full web icon set in a similar style… So as we’re approaching the end of the month, we thought it’d be good idea to brighten up your day with another freebie (just because we all hate paying bills).

The full hand-drawn icon set (again in Alex’ signature) style comprises of 60 individual, unique icons which will cover most of your web design bases. The icons are supplied in a 64 x 64 pixel size and as transparent PNG’s; so you have enough flexibility to integrate them in your unique designs.

Hand-Drawn Social Media Icons

After our previous (free) icon release was so wildly successful and popular with you all, we figured that it might not be a bad idea to do it all over again…

This time around, we collaborated with South African artist – Alex Latimer – to create a very unique hand-drawn icon set which is reminiscent of Alex’ signature drawing style. The set comprising of 24 different icons, should cover most of the social networks that you frequent regularly and the default icon size has been set at 64 x 64 pixels.

Now why would you use these icons? Well, beyond the fact that they’re very unique and extremely cool, Alex is already working on a more complete (approx 60 icons) icon set which will cover all of the “standard” web icons used within designs. So both sets will be in the same, distinctive style and you’ll have 80+ icons to use in your next design.
