WooThemes features in Web Designer Podcast
07. May, 2009 by Mark Forrester in WooThemes News
The guys at Web Designer Magazine have been keeping busy revamping their website. With it now running off none other than Wordpress and it sporting a beautiful new theme design, with lots of new content it is definitely worth a visit.
Last week we recorded a podcast interview with Web Designer Magazine which is now available for your listening over on their website.
Podcast Episode 4 features:
CSS legend, respected author and standards consultant Eric Meyer talks candidly about how he got into the business and what the future holds for CSS3. Plus, we catch up with Mark Forrester of WordPress design team WooThemes and ask whether CMS-based blog building is good thing or bad thing for the modern art of web design.
Also if you missed our feature in the magazine in March that is also now available on their website .
Ryan Carson meets WooThemes
04. May, 2009 by Adii Rockstar in Interactive
We’ve been fortunate enough to travel up to the UK to attend Future of Web Design last week and were even more fortunate to get the opportunity to meet up with Ryan Carson & his wife, Gill, in their hometown of Bath today.
As the founders of a very successful company, Carsonified, the whole WooThemes crew have loads of respect for both Ryan & Gill, which means that it was really great meeting up with them. They use our Fresh News theme over at ThinkVitamin and according to Ryan, they’ve been really happy with the theme thus far.
So here’s a little “Hi!” and endorsement from Ryan…

We’ve featured in Web Designer magazine again

Web Designer Magazine - Issue 155
That’s right Issue 155 of Web Designer Magazine features us yet again, but this time we have a more prominent feature with a full page dedicated to a Q & A with Adii and a look at the WooThemes headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa.
Issue 155 focuses on Wordpress’s impressive and biggest upgrade to date - version 2.7. The magazine features explanations of this version’s highlights, the dashboard editor explained and designer tips and opinions.
We’ve teamed up with Web Designer Magazine and launched three of our popular WooTheme wordpress templates for free on their promotional CD.
That’s about £200’s worth of WooThemes goodness!
Which themes are available on the CD you may ask?
One from each of us. Adii’s Geometric business/portfolio theme, Magnus’s Freshfolio portfolio theme and my magazine theme – Foreword Thinking.
Head on over to your local UK newspaper shop to get your copy or buy this issue online.
WooThemes in Motion
20. Nov, 2008 by Adii Rockstar in Interactive
Just a heads-up that Mark and I recently did a video interview with the guys of From The Couch. They asked us a few questions with regards to WooThemes, WordPress & blogging in general; and the conversation seemed to take on a Proudly-South African vibe in the end… Nevertheless, if you’ve ever wanted to see us in motion, check out the following two links (it’s a two part series):
Note: Magnus was excluded from the interview, because he couldn’t get his butt down to Cape Town in time…
Hot off the press
29. Sep, 2008 by Mark Forrester in Interactive

Hot off the press and in most UK newspaper/stationery stores is Issue 149 of Web Designer , the only serious tutorial-driven monthly publication dedicated to online creativity available in the UK .
Issue 149 focusses on the wonderful Wordpress , giving you history and tips behind Web 2.0’s blogging behemoth.
We were approached by Web Designer last month and asked if we would contribute any of our WooThemes for this issue’s accompanying CD. After a brief chat Adii, Magnus and myself decided it would be silly to pass on the opportunity of marketing WooThemes to the huge following of this great magazine. After careful consideration we decided we would offer both Papercut and Proudfolio . That’s right two of our premium themes are avaliable for free with Issue 149 of Web Designer. Also in this issue is a step-by-step detailed tutorial on how to develop your own Wordpress theme, albeit quite a basic one.
What are you waiting for? Make sure you pick up your copy today!
